吾志遠 Lukasz Piotr LANSKI

Passionate about traveling, different cultures and meeting new people - in short, this is what describes me. Without this passion, I would never happen to be in Taiwan. 

I chose Sinology as the major for my bachelor degree, as I had a dedication for foreign languages as well as openness for new challenges. That very decision had a great impact on my future and how I shaped myself in following years. I visited Taiwan for the first time in 2012 to join National Kaohsiung Normal University. This initial trip left a big impression on me, so I decided to return in 2013 to join NTNU with a scholarship. After returning to Poland, I finished my studies and despite not being able to go to Taiwan again for some time, I found a way to connect with it in my home country. I opened a Taiwanese restaurant and bar in the middle of Poznan City, and I also opened a business with my Taiwanese colleague, focused on international trade and marketing. After the experience of operating a small business, I realized my need for further development in that field. Therefore, I decided to visit Taiwan for the 3rd time in late 2015. During which, I joined the Working Holiday program. Thanks to it, I had a unique chance to learn more about Taiwan’s restaurant and bar industry. I felt I needed this experience to understand more about Taiwan and its people. 

Following the program, I pursued my second degree – Global MBA program at National Sun Yat-Sen University. That was the missing piece of a puzzle I needed to find during the days of running a business. After graduation, I started a new job in Pingtung where I was preparing a company’s entry to different markets in Europe. I was also managing existing clients and acquiring new ones. This long road finally led me to my current position as a Head of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency Taipei Office. A post that allows me to support Polish investors and exporters from my home country to my second home, linking Poland and Taiwan together, strengthening our ties.
