【Orientation & Workshop】Commencement of 2024 NTU IMP & Workshop III: How to Strategically Navigate Your Career

20 June 2024

The orientation ceremony and final career workshop of the 2024 NTU International Mentorship Program concluded splendidly on June 11th. Now, in its third edition, IMP successfully matched 180 students from 29 countries with 91 organizations for internships, representing a growth of over 1.5 times compared to last year. Throughout the summer break, these students will intern in public, civic, and private sectors, guided by experienced senior executives. In addition to applying their academic knowledge, they will explore numerous possibilities for career development.

During the ceremony, the Associate Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Jiun-Haw Lee, delivered words of encouragement, reminding students that transitioning from campus to the workplace entails not just personal responsibility but also representing National Taiwan University. He urged students not only to gain workplace experience but also to fully commit themselves and realize the maximum value of their internships. The two Associate Vice Presidents for International Affairs, Prof. Jiun-Haw Lee and Prof. Kuo-Hsin Yang, also presented specially crafted name cards from OIA to the students. This gesture symbolizes their transition from students to budding professionals in the workplace and includes heartfelt wishes for their upcoming three-month internships.

In the afternoon workshop, executives such as Clément Dieudonné, Vice President of Global Product Marketing and EMEA Sales at Ubiik; Gene Huang, Taipei City Leader at DECATHLON Taiwan; and Kevin Yuan, CEO of Orange Corporation, shared their diverse career journeys and insights. In roundtable discussions led by the mentors, the students brainstormed according to simulated scenarios and contemplated potential cultural impacts and communication challenges they may encounter in their future workplaces.

OIA extends sincere blessings to all participants of this year's IMP, hoping they will gain valuable experiences in their upcoming career endeavors. Bon Courage! Bon Voyage!
