The third annual NTU International Mentorship Program concluded successfully with nearly 200 mentors, students, and representatives from various companies and organizations attending the appreciation banquet. Since its launch in 2022, the program has grown from matching 68 students with internships at 40 organizations to 180 students at 91 organizations this year. To express gratitude, NTU Executive Vice President Prof. Shih-Torng Ding and Vice President for International Affairs Prof. Hsiao-Wei Yuan awarded the “Honorary Mentor” plaque to 14 mentors who have continuously supported the program for three years, providing guidance and mentorship to students.
During the event, Mr. Giuseppe Izzo, Vice President of STMicroelectronics Asia Pacific and General Manager for Taiwan, as well as Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan, shared his story of over 30 years of work in Taiwan. He encouraged young people to make the most of available resources and embrace opportunities with courage.
Japanese intern Hanaho Komatsu from the Jardine Restaurant Group and Thai intern Boonsorn Nutchanon Thanasoon from Taiwan Mobile shared how the NTU IMP and other international talent development programs helped them discover their career paths. The event was also supported by our partners, including freshly brewed coffee from Zhanlu Coffee, ice cream from the Minnesota State Government Office in Taiwan (Bassetts Ice Cream), and signature almond tofu desserts from the Orange Restaurant Group.
As a token of appreciation, NTU's Office of International Affairs gifted attendees a stylish dining set in collaboration with In Blooom, thanking them for their support in cultivating international talent.
