Sustainability is at the core of National Taiwan University’s (NTU) mission — shaping not only how we teach and learn, but also redefining how we conduct research and how we connect and live together as a community.
From being one of the first institutions to commit to achieving net-zero emissions by 2048, to actively advancing green procurement and circular economy initiatives, NTU is mapping out a future in which progress and responsibility move forward together, with all university-wide efforts aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
NTU’s leadership in sustainability has been recognized nationally and internationally. In 2024, we received the Executive Yuan’s National Sustainable Development Award (Higher Education Category), and in the 2025 QS Sustainability Rankings, we rose to 74th globally, 4th in Asia, and 1st in Taiwan. NTU is also ranked 14th worldwide in the 2025 THE Impact Rankings, reflecting our strong contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The International Mentorship Program is honored to be part of this green journey. We see our students’ strong sense of responsibility toward environmental issues, and more of them are aspiring to make sustainability an integral part of their future careers.
To support these aspirations, we launched the Green Talent tag to highlight internships and experiential opportunities that help students build the skills, knowledge, and values needed to generate meaningful impact in sustainability.
We are proud to partner with GoodPoint Exchange, the organization behind THE GREEN BOOK: Taiwan’s Sustainable Actions and Solutions, which received the United Nations UNSDG SiAC Excellence Award. Together, we are co-developing Green Talent standards, advancing talent sustainability, strengthening international connections, and enhancing systematic alignment — enabling NTU and young people across Taiwan to engage more fully with the world and step confidently onto the global sustainability stage.
'Green Talent' refers to organizations that provide internship opportunities through which students can cultivate the essential skills, knowledge, and values needed to make meaningful contributions to environmental sustainability. These organizations either operate directly within sustainability-focused industries or significantly integrate sustainable practices into their work, services, or operations. Through these internships, students can experience the practical application of sustainability principles firsthand and contribute meaningfully to environmental protection and the global transition toward sustainability.
The 'Green Talent' initiative aims to help students engage in professional sustainability practices, including reducing environmental impact, driving sustainable operations, and promoting innovative services. By choosing "Green Talent" internship programs, students not only gain experience crucial to their own careers but also help solidify NTU’s leadership position in the field of sustainable development.
