Pao Cheng Liu is a Deputy Manager at Gallant Precision Machining, specializing in mechanical design and technical development for semiconductor CMP equipment. Brief Introduction of the Department

【Design Center】

The Design Center is responsible for the research and development of advanced semiconductor CMP equipment, driving the entire product development process from initial concept and mechanical and software design through manufacturing, testing, and final integration. The team works closely with cross-functional departments, including process engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, and supply chain, to coordinate project schedules and ensure timely product development and delivery. Team members are involved in hands-on equipment testing, performance validation, troubleshooting, and design optimization, gaining practical experience in transforming engineering concepts into reliable industrial solutions. Through close collaboration across disciplines, the Design Center provides an environment where interns can develop practical skills in mechanical design, system integration, testing, project coordination, and semiconductor equipment development while gaining valuable exposure to real-world engineering challenges.

Internship Job Description

- CAD/CAE Design & Analysis: Support the mechanical design and engineering analysis of semiconductor CMP equipment using AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D).

- Simulation & Structural Optimization: Apply FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to evaluate component performance, validate localized modules, and optimize mechanical structures.

- Experimental Testing & Data Analysis: Assist with equipment testing, organize and analyze experimental data, and prepare technical documentation to support design verification and improvement.

- Manufacturing Integration: Support the preparation and management of engineering drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and other technical documents required for manufacturing and equipment integration.

- EFEM & Wafer Transfer Systems: Assist with precision calibration and testing of EFEM Robot wafer transfer modules to ensure accurate wafer handling and seamless synchronization with semiconductor equipment.

- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with mechanical, process, manufacturing, and other engineering teams to support equipment development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

- Master students

Preferred Intern Skill Sets or Qualities

- Mechanical Engineering or related fields.

- Solid foundational knowledge in mechanism design, fluid mechanics, and statics/dynamics.

- Familiarity with semiconductor or other chemical manufacturing processes.

- Knowledgeable in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) domains.

- Proficient in AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D); hands-on experience with SolidWorks Simulation and Flow simulation software is preferred.

- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility within project scopes, with a proactive, adaptive mindset and sharp problem-solving skills.

- Expected working hours per week: 30+
- Salary/Financial Support: NT$35,000 per month
- Additional Benefits: Meal Benefit: The company provides interns with a subsidized lunch option at a preferential price of NT$35 per meal.

Students may be offered the opportunity to continue as interns for up to six additional months after completing the NTU International Mentorship Program, at the discretion of the host organization.
