Brief Introduction of the Department
【Material and Chemical Research Laboratories】
The Material and Chemical Research Laboratories has been engaged in the area of materials research for more than 40 years. The focus areas have evolved from traditional industries such as textile, petrochemical, steel, and ceramics, into advanced materials research to cope with the challenge of quick change in world industries. MCL's R&D achievements have been critical to the development and global competitiveness of Taiwan's electronics, optoelectronics, flat panel display, energy storage, and other sectors. In addition to solving the problems encountered by local industries, the center is also the pioneer in developing high-end material and component technologies leading to next-generation products with innovation and self-sustained intellectual property strategy. In collaboration with local industry partners and through an open innovation platform, the center has built up enabling technologies by involving world-class institutes and academia.
Dept. of Nano Hybrid Materials and Applications (L700) focuses on developing materials that can be applied to semiconductor processes including precursors for application in atomic layer deposition (ALD) and monomers that can further carry out polymerization to become resin for photoresist applications. Organic synthesis, organometallic synthesis, material analysis, and ALD process varication are core technologies in L700
