Brief Introduction of the Department

【Design Center】

The Design Center is responsible for the research and development of advanced semiconductor CMP equipment, driving the entire product development process from initial concept and mechanical and software design through manufacturing, testing, and final integration. The team works closely with cross-functional departments, including process engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, and supply chain, to coordinate project schedules and ensure timely product development and delivery. Team members are involved in hands-on equipment testing, performance validation, troubleshooting, and design optimization, gaining practical experience in transforming engineering concepts into reliable industrial solutions. Through close collaboration across disciplines, the Design Center provides an environment where interns can develop practical skills in mechanical design, system integration, testing, project coordination, and semiconductor equipment development while gaining valuable exposure to real-world engineering challenges.

Internship Job Description

The internship primarily involves the development of robotic automation, machine vision, digital twins, and Sim-to-Real technologies. NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, and Isaac Lab are utilized to build virtual simulation environments for robotic arms and automation equipment, enabling motion control, path planning, collision detection, and functional validation before deployment and testing on physical robotic systems. The internship also covers machine vision and AI applications, including Robot AI Motion, image recognition, feature localization, vision-based compensation, and automated calibration to improve robotic positioning accuracy and automation capabilities. In addition, the work involves requirement analysis, software development, experimental design, data analysis, and on-site equipment testing. Through hands-on projects, practical experience is gained in hardware-software integration, Robotics, Physical AI, and smart manufacturing technologies.

Preferred Intern Skill Sets or Qualities

- Proficiency in Python or C# programming fundamentals

- Strong interest in Robotics, Physical AI, and Machine Vision

- Basic knowledge of robot control, kinematics, or automation systems

- Some experience with simulation platforms such as NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, and Isaac Lab

- Basic understanding of AI, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision

- Familiarity with or willingness to learn development tools such as ROS / ROS 2, Git, and Linux

- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and self-learning abilities

- Willingness to explore new technologies with hands-on implementation, testing, and validation skills

- Strong teamwork and communication skills

- Strong interest in learning about the semiconductor equipment and automation industries

- Salary/Financial Support: NT$35,000 per month
