PERSONAL BIO

Kaili Lee currently serves as the Director of GOH-Migrants for Garden of Hope Foundation, one of Taiwan's largest NGOs. She engages in trafficking victim assistance programs, policy advocacy, law amendment, and inter-agency coordination at the local and national level.

Kaili develops and delivers training and technical assistance to law enforcement, government entities, and NGOs on nationwide migrant and anti-trafficking issues. She makes an effort to lead service innovation, leading a local shelter to its expansion as GOH-Migrants, a all-around and innovative service center within 3 years. She upholds the rights and dignity of migrants, advocating the integration policies and facilitating the international partnership for the migrants as well. Recently, Kaili and her cross-cultural team has developed several cultural exhibition projects promoting diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives.

Kaili received a Master's degree in Sociology, and is with theological background, which strengthen her fight for human rights and advocacy for peace.

Brief Introduction of the Department

【GOH-Migrants】

The Garden of Hope Foundation believes that the need for care knows no borders. Since 2009, the Garden of Hope Foundation has been dedicating into working with migrant workers, initially through the operation of 1955 Labor Consultation and Complaint Service Hotline. Since 2011, the Garden of Hope Foundation has opened several shelters for women migrant workers, providing interrogation escort services for human trafficking victims, implemented community innovation projects, and policy research and advocacy.

In 2020, GOH-Migrants was established and has expanded services to migration populations with multiple backgrounds. With the mission of “diversity and inclusion” as well as “culture equity”, GOH-Migrants dedicates to create platform of resources and initiate empowerment programs for migrant workers and international students, in promoting sustainable communities.

GOH-Migrants cares about the rights of migrant workers in Taiwan. Each year, GOH-Migrants frames a topic centering on migrant workers for developing practical research and policy advocacy. GOH-Migrants has been upholding “Service-Empowerment-Advocacy”, providing one-stop services for short-term migrants in Taiwan, to promote the society with diversity, human rights and gender equality.

Internship Job Description

GOH-Migrants is looking for an intern to network with corporations to promote and implement corporate sustainability in Taiwan, with a focus on migration. The intern will familiarizes him/herself with what entails corporate social responsibility (CSR), business and human rights, and so forth, particularly on transnational migration and employee assistance programs (EAPs) for foreign employees. Through data collection, preliminary analysis, and knowledge translation, the intern will compose clear and easy-understanding publications or promotional materials. The intern will connect with corporations to form a network, through organizing workshops or other occasions, to jointly promote friendly employment, sustainable labor-employer relations, and a corporate environment which secures migrants human rights, in facilitating the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

Preferred Intern Education Level

- undergraduate students (third year and above)
- Master students

Preferred Intern Skill Sets or Qualities

- Interested in transnational migration and the rights of foreigners in Taiwan
- Euipped with basic knowledge regarding CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and sustainabile business operations
- Limited-to-Professional Working Proficiency in English and Chinese
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Experience in any of the following is a plus: event planning and execution, digital marketing, stakeholders relationship engagement, etc.
