【Government and Public Affairs Department】

The Government & Public Affairs Department at AmCham Taiwan is the bridge between the Chamber and the Taiwan Government. Our department provides research, recommendations, and liaison coordination to support Chamber-wide and committee advocacy. We are dedicated to helping our members overcome trade and investment barriers by providing up-to-date information on government policies, legislation, and regulations. Our annual White Paper offers suggestions on how to navigate the everchanging business environment in Taiwan, and serves as a key reference for both Taiwan and the U.S. government.

Internship Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our GA team, where they will focus on legislative, regulatory, and enforcement measures that have a direct effect on domestic commerce and the operations of international companies in Taiwan. The selected candidate will develop their research skills and produce concise reports that keep our organization informed and prepared.

Tasks may include:

- Legislative and Regulatory Research:
Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and enforcement developments in Taiwan that may affect domestic commerce and international businesses. Conduct thorough background research to understand the implications of proposed measures on our stakeholders.

- Alert Generation and Reporting:

Generate actionable alerts on time-sensitive legislative and regulatory changes, providing key insights into potential impacts on our member companies. Draft concise reports that summarize the implications of these measures and offer strategic recommendations for the organization and its members.

- Presentation Support:

Assist in the creation of presentation slides and remarks for public policy briefings, advocacy initiatives, and stakeholder engagements. Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate and cogent communication of key policy issues.

- Administrative and Events Support:

Support administrative tasks related to public policy initiatives. Assist in the planning and execution of events, including logistics, coordination, and follow-up activities.

Preferred Intern Skill Sets or Qualities

Undergraduate degree in political science, public policy, business, international relations, journalism, public relations, or related fields that emphasize analytical thinking, communication, and persuasion.
