PERSONAL BIO

Terance currently serves as the representative for TSMC in this program. The specific training mentor(s) will be identified in April/May of 2024. Started his career as an software designer in Silicon Valley after graduated with PhD from Stanford University, Terane Chao later joined Mckinsey as a management consultant serving clients across financial and high tech companies on engagements such as process regineering/organziaiton restructuring/M&A due diligence.

He currently lead the global talent incubation initiave at TSMC focusing on developing talent across the board for semiconductor industry. Prior to that he served as the Director of HRBP, RD, Department manager of Staffing/Recruiting, Manager of organziaiton development, and various managerial positons at TSMC HR function.

This training program provides an unique experience for students to learn about the semiconductor industry and have a first-hand experience of career life in TSMC. Students will not only join a series of training sessions related to your major, but also be part of the team and expected to provide solutions and create valuable impacts to our company.

- Equipment Basics

- Process Basics

Hands-on Practice: Real fab tools under safe environment

Fab:
Thematic Learning:
- Dividing student into 3 groups based on individual major. (Integration; module; manufacture)
-Making connections with concepts explored through real-life experiences

Hands-on Experience:
-Training in knowledge and control methods necessary
-Immersing students in a subject to learn, practice and develop professional skills
-Instructors engage with students in direct experience and focused reflection to enhance their knowledge, skillset and values

Engagement and Interactivity:
-Social events for team building
-Supervisors perform face-to-face communication daily
-Weekly report plays a role in feedback survey
