Dr. Chia has been serving as the Vice President of Chunghwa Telecom Network Technology Group since July, 2021. He leads the planning, engineering and operation department of the mobile business. Dr. Chia is telecom veteran and has been working for more than 33 years in Chunghwa. He started his career as researcher in wireless technology laboratories, and then took the leading position in wireless research projects, with a focus on 3G/4G/5G CORE and RAN technology and standardization.

Prior to his current role, he held a variety of roles and scopes in mobile business division, including the deputy M.D. of engineering, M.D. of engineering and M.D. of operation department, and the deputy vice president.

Our team specializes in design and integration, spanning across diverse fields such as mobile networks, fixed networks, and information technology. This expertise allows us to develop comprehensive solutions that leverage insights from various domains.

The current primary initiatives are included the "5G Private Network," "Assessment and Adoption of New Technologies," and " Enterprise Network (VPN/SD-WAN/SASE)." Simultaneously, we focus on monitoring international technological advancements, market demands, and the latest trends in network technology. The team remains adaptable to the evolving landscape to provide customers with more efficient, secure, and reliable services across mobile, fixed, data, and international networks.

Internship Job Description

The internship objectives are designed to familiarize participants with Chunghwa Telecom's diverse network technology services. The mobile network technology will be the primary training topic. This involves active participation in project processes, on-site interviews to understand customer requirements, comprehensive project planning and design, execution, and management. The goal is to explore opportunities for expansion into overseas markets.

- Evolution of mobile network technology: Understanding the historical progression and advancements in mobile networks
- Gathering global market development trends: Analyzing the current and projected trends in the global telecommunications market
- Planning and designing 4G/5G mobile network: Exploring the fundamental principles, architecture, and capabilities of 4G/5G networks
