PERSONAL BIO

Jason Yang received his master's degree in Computer Science from National Taiwan University, Taiwan. He possesses over 20 years of experience in software development, IT system design, and operation, dedicated to distributing systems and network security.

Jason first joined PEGATRON in 2008 where he lead the cloud-native AI software development, DevOps, and Big Data services. In 2009, Jason joined an Israeli ODM phone project as an application team lead. In 2012, he was assigned a different role as software project manager and design lead of an OEM tablet project. Forwardly, he built a pioneer team of big data and machine-learning application development in 2014. Throughout his career, Jason had launched various AI applications, delivering values in smart manufacturing, decision maker, CSR, and demand forecast inside PEGATRON. Currently, Jason is the Director of the Engineering platform and DevOps department in the Core Technology R&D Center.

Brief Introduction of the Department

【Core Technology R&D Center, Division 1, Department 3】

We are developing an AI platform related to deep learning and smart manufacturing. The internship job of the department may include cloud-native microservice software development, cloud infrastructure, DevOps services, data ETL services, data lake, databases and optimization of CI/CD pipelines.

Internship Job Description

Platform Engineer Responsibilities:
- Based on PaaS & IaaS concepts to design, implement, and operate container-based microservices of AI platforms to make them robust and high-performance.
- Manage the service availability and scalability through better monitoring, CD/CD processes, and infrastructure.

DevOps Engineer Responsibilities:
- Build and operate a container-based platform with docker & Kubernetes.
- Provide DevOps services such as CI/CD pipeline.

Preferred Intern Education Level

- undergraduate students (third year and above)
- Master students

Preferred Intern Skill Sets or Qualities

- At least familiar with one programming language
- Linux and networking basic knowledge
- Cloud-native software development is a plus

Others

- Upon the completion of the NTU International Mentorship Program, students may continue as interns for an additional 6 months - 1 year, at the discretion of the organization.
