Derek Lin is a seasoned logistics manager with over a decade of experience in the container shipping industry, including four years based in London. After building a strong foundation in maritime logistics through key roles at Yang Ming Marine Transport in Europe and the UK, he transitioned into the offshore wind sector in 2020. His project management experience at UFL Shipping Agency for the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm further strengthened his expertise in large-scale, multidimensional logistics operations.

Since joining CDWE in 2023, Derek has contributed to the Zhong Neng and Hai Long offshore wind projects, focusing on customs clearance, port operations, and maritime logistics. In his role within the Logistics and Permit Department, he supports and enhances the integration of CDWE’s logistics functions, ensuring seamless operational execution for complex offshore developments.

【Logistics & Permit Department (TRIMEX)】

TRIMEX is a specialized logistics and maritime service division focusing on international transportation and offshore engineering cargo operations. Our team manages a wide range of cargo types including standard containers, OOG (Out of Gauge) units, and Break Bulk shipments. We provide full-scope services that cover ocean and air freight coordination, customs clearance, import/export documentation, and communication with port authorities and government agencies. Working with major offshore wind and engineering projects, TRIMEX offers interns a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international logistics, customs operations, and marine project support. Interns will learn how to plan and manage complex cargo movements while collaborating with global partners and local stakeholders in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Internship Job Description

The intern will assist in daily logistics and shipping operations for offshore engineering and international transport projects. Key responsibilities include preparing import/export and customs documentation, supporting ocean and air freight coordination, updating cargo tracking records, and assisting communication with customs officers and logistics agents. Interns will also have the opportunity to observe port operations, understand heavy cargo handling procedures, and participate in real world problem-solving within a professional logistics team. This position provides a valuable foundation for students who are interested in careers in international trade, maritime logistics, or engineering project management.
