Manager of F16 FACILITY GAS

Brief Introduction of the Department

【MMT MFG - Facilities Ops/Maint I Department】

Facilities include Water, Gas & Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, System Installation, Maintenance and Instrument & Control Sections. Our major task is to support the utilities requirement for Module.

Water team include PCW supply, recycle system even wastewater treatment. Gas supply system have Bulk Gas such as N2, O2, Ar…etc and Specialty Gas including Corrosive, Flammable and Inert.
Chemical team supply the chemical demand from tools, which use pump or compressed N2 to supply for clean room. Mechanical team not only controls the temperature/humidity/exhaust in FAB, but also support CDA, Natural gas. As for Electrical, emergency power and UPS system can sustain our continuous supply for tools.

Above is our 4 major utilities supply system. System installation section does the hook up work between facilities system and tools. Maintenance section provides our daily requirements such as water dispenser, elevator even firefighting system. In the end, our I&C team use big database concept to achieve early detection function for a better management.

Internship Job Description

As an Intern, the ultimate task is to complete a project related to productivity improvement. In Bulk Gas, need to learn a new Gas Plant establishment procedure, different departments cooperation skill, communication with Suppliers. From air separation unit, liquid gas supply to Purifier principle, CQC analysis, help to coordinate system owner for an overall strategy. As for Specialty Gas, pressure adjustment in supply side is the key parameter. Studying the feasibility of 2nd regulator installation before supply to fulfill Module’s requirements is the first priority now. Besides, due to some of vapor pressure of Specialty Gas is too low, heater insulation in piping and cylinders is required. A thermodynamics analysis and calculations for different gases are necessary to figure out a best heating method with highest efficiency.
