In the midst of the 2009 financial crisis, Anemone Ventures was founded. The company’s mission is to assist tech companies in entering Taiwan and provide local partners with a competitive edge in the region. Today, the company serves as a bridge, helping numerous international companies establish themselves in the Asian market by identifying key partners and managing suppliers in Asia.
Revital Shpangental is the founder and CEO of Anemone Ventures. After moving to Asia in 1999, she worked in various places, including Singapore, South Korea, and Hong Kong. However, it was Taiwan that gave her enough confidence to build her business. “I follow my values, guidelines, and inner voice. I always felt that Taiwan is a secure and free place to do business. It offers a transparent and cost-effective environment. When the impact of trade wars between China and the US, the riots in HK, and the global pandemic started, individuals and corporations figured Taiwan is, in fact, a safe and friendly hub to establish a business base. I knew I was right from the very beginning.”
While leading her company, Revital also serves as the chairperson of the Women in Business program of the British Chamber of Commerce, and a lead judge of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Dragon’s Chamber annual pitch competition. Her desire is to support young entrepreneurs and give them greater opportunities to succeed in the business world. She emphasizes the importance of finding a good mentor, as seeking help and advice is crucial for one’s success.
Through the NTU IMP, Anemone Ventures offers an internship opportunity for those who envision a future in the business realm. Under the guidance of an experienced mentor, the intern will explore fields of business development, research, marketing, administrative, and more.
