11 December 2023

Mosaic Venture Lab (MVL), based in Taiwan and backed by Audi AG and Continental AG, is a key player in smart mobility, emphasizing mobility services, electrification, and sustainability. Volker Heistermann, MVL's co-founder and managing director, highlights Taiwan's global tech significance, showcasing its flexibility and problem-solving capabilities, recognized by Europe.

Going beyond startup acceleration, MVL actively conducts extensive corporate research, providing ecosystem technology reports to reveal emerging trends. The focus is on delivering tailored market intelligence and adopting a hands-on approach to scout startups, ensuring a precise alignment between innovations and industry needs.

MVL's boutique strategy emphasizes a locally centered yet globally impactful tech ecosystem. Jmem Tek, a standout in their portfolio, is an innovative semiconductor information security startup targeting IoT and automotive chips. They employ strategies integrating solutions for intellectual property protection and biometric-like identification for trusted access. Volker's diverse background, rooted in Germany and spanning marketing, business products, and investment banking, shaped MVL's vision, with a focus on cabin intelligence, electrification, and sustainability.

MVL's recent collaboration with Liteon+ and the X Site program aims to invigorate startups, particularly those in sustainability and clean energy. Powered by LITEON Technology, X Site facilitates startup survival and thriving through collaborations. This initiative underscores MVL's commitment to fostering a thriving ecosystem, propelling startups toward sustained growth and success.

This year, MVL has also partnered with the NTU IMP, with Volker serving as the mentor. Through the program, students have the opportunity to join MVL, follow Volker's guidance, and actively explore the startup industries, thereby play an active role in shaping the future.
