NTU OIA led a group of 39 international students and faculty from 12 countries to visit central Taiwan. They toured Decathlon Taiwan, Giant Group, and the Cycling Culture Museum.
At Decathlon Taiwan's flagship store in Taichung, which also serves as the operational headquarters, students experienced the brand's management strategies and corporate culture. They were guided by the Regional Leader, Damien from France, and heard from Marco, the Innovation Designer from Honduras, about his 12-year learning journey and job-seeking experiences. The Talent Acquisition Leader, Helen Lin, emphasized Taiwan's significant position and talent demand as Decathlon moves toward the professional sports market.
The group also visited Giant Group, where they learned about its transformation from traditional contract manufacturing to creating its own brand, "Giant." They heard from Venus, the Chief Human Resources Officer, about future investments in AI technology research and development. At the Cycling Culture Museum, students explored the history of bicycles and experienced their evolving role as lifestyle and fashion statements.
Through these visits, students gained insights into different workplace environments and witnessed Taiwan's diverse aspects of life and industries. It is hoped that they will be inspired to embrace new career opportunities beyond their comfort zones in the future!
