On October 23, the National Development Council (NDC) inaugurated the Southern Office of the International Talent Service and Recruitment Center in Kaohsiung. Hsu Nai-wen, Executive Director of the Southern Joint Service Center, highlighted that the new office will offer convenient services to businesses in the Kaohsiung-Pingtung-Penghu region, reducing travel time and improving services for foreign individuals.
The ceremony featured Hsu Nai-wen and NDC Deputy Minister Jan Fang-kuan, along with attendees including legislator Lin Tai-hua and Zhang Zi-lin, director of the American Institute in Taiwan's Kaohsiung office.
Jan Fang-kuan noted the rapid industrial development in the southern region, especially due to policies promoting the semiconductor corridor and the Kaohsiung Asia New Bay Area. The focus has shifted from traditional heavy industries to high-tech sectors like semiconductors and AI. Attracting international talent is seen as a key strategy to enhance competitiveness.
Hsu Nai-wen mentioned that the center receives an average of over 3,000 visitors daily. It houses several government agencies, including the Immigration Agency of the Ministry of the Interior, the Southern Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Straits Exchange Foundation, and the Ministries of Economic Affairs and Labor. Many foreigners, as well as individuals from Mainland China and Hong Kong-Macau, come to handle various business matters.
He emphasized that the new office will facilitate better services for businesses in the region, making it easier for foreign individuals to access necessary support.
The Southern Joint Service Center announced that the International Talent Service and Recruitment Center Southern Office will provide one-stop services for foreign professionals and their families in Southern Taiwan, helping them establish themselves and advance their careers in the area.
