London, Nov. 14 (CNA) – National Taiwan University (NTU) and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) are ranked among the top 100 universities globally for employability, according to the 2025 Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS) released Thursday. NTU placed 79th, while NTUST ranked 82nd. National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) came in at 189th.
The University of Tokyo, ranked 8th, is the highest-ranked Asian university, followed by the National University of Singapore.
Sandrine Belloc, co-founder and president of Emerging, the consulting firm that compiles the rankings, told CNA that Taiwan’s universities performed impressively given their size. However, she noted that while they excel in "alumni skills" and "academic performance," their global image remains relatively underdeveloped. To enhance global visibility and employability, Belloc suggested Taiwan’s universities focus on collaboration with industry. She emphasized the importance of developing work-centered learning, updating curricula to reflect industry changes, creating teaching staff with practical experience, and implementing mandatory internships.
The GEURS rankings are based on a global survey of 13,240 employers from 33 countries, who cast 129,126 votes on over 1,000 universities worldwide.
