Ming-Lung Chan, General Manager of EDF Renewables Taiwan, showcased her multilingual and multisectoral career path. She encouraged students to enjoy each stage, every moment of their careers. Having embraced change throughout her professional life, Ming-Lung urged students to remain open to opportunities and to view future challenges as requirements to fulfil rather than obstacles to overcome.
Elisa Chiu, an accomplished former trader with global experience and now CEO of Anchor Asia, shared how her passion for travel led her to connect entrepreneurs and investors across borders. She inspired students to make ‘your values your brand’, demonstrating how aligning one’s motivations with one’s career can lead to both personal and professional fulfillment.
Duncan Aitken, Chief Sustainability Officer and Global Business Director at Grape King Bio, recounted his transition from the automotive industry to biotechnology an evolution driven by thoughtful planning and decision-making. A fluent Mandarin speaker, Duncan highlighted the importance of strong communication skills, reminding students that they are hired for their skills, knowledge and attitude, but are promoted for their ability to communicate effectively.
From start-ups to government agencies and established manufacturers, and across sectors such as finance, renewable energy, and construction, NTU has collaborated with over 90 organisation in the past three years to provide nearly 600 international students with summer internship opportunities.
