Stepping into a diverse workplace is more than just showcasing your professional skills; it’s a real-world test of cross-cultural adaptation and communication nuances. As the #InternationalMentorProgram (IMP) matchmaking wraps up and internships are about to begin, the NTU Office of International Affairs joined forces with Cake once again last week to host the final chapter of the series: "Taiwan Workplace Survival Guide," helping students master essential workplace soft skills.

The session was led by an experienced speaker from Cake who has thrived in Taiwan for many years. The speaker guided students through the communication logic and office culture unique to Taiwan's workplace, offering practical strategies to overcome language and cultural barriers. Teams were guided step-by-step on how to build trust within diverse teams and effectively showcase their core values.
Through carefully designed scenario simulations, cross-cultural communication theories were instantly turned into practical workplace strategies, further empowering students to set clear expectations and goals for their upcoming internships.

Having completed these three NTUxCake workshops covering resume writing, interviewing, and workplace survival, we are confident that students will flexibly apply what they’ve learned. You are fully equipped to smoothly bridge into the Taiwanese workforce, overcome cultural and language differences, and precisely demonstrate your core value in practice!
