NTU’s Office of International Affairs recently led 39 international students and faculty members from 15 countries, together with @NTUGOAT, on an unforgettable three-day journey exploring the very best of Taiwan’s industry, history, and culture. The adventure kicked off with a deep dive into the high-tech sector at global semiconductor leader Micron, giving participants a first-hand look at Taiwan's vital role in the global tech ecosystem. This was followed by an exciting visit to the IGO Wind Training Center, where students explored green energy solutions and even challenged themselves in a 21-meter wind turbine climbing simulation, before wrapping up the evening amidst the vibrant energy and local flavors of Fengjia Night Market.

On the second day, the group traveled into the mountains of Nantou to visit the Qingliu Community, where they were deeply honored to hear from Mahung Pawan, the great-granddaughter of the legendary Seediq leader Mona Rudao. Her moving, personal account of the 1930 Wushe Incident offered profound insights into the history, resilience, and identity of the Seediq people. The cultural immersion continued as students tried on traditional Seediq clothing, practiced archery, and wove protective bracelets, culminating in a beautiful evening gathering where participants shared dances from their own home cultures alongside traditional Seediq performances.

The final day brought the group to the scenic waters of Sun Moon Lake, where they explored the breathtaking alpine landscape by boat and learned about Lalu Island, a sacred site for the Thao people. After sampling the famous local tea eggs at Xuanguang Pier and exploring the bustling Ita Thao shopping district, the journey came to a relaxing and memorable close with a premium black tea tasting at "Hohocha." Through immersive local interactions and shared experiences like these, NTU OIA continues to champion "Internationalisation at Home," building meaningful cross-cultural bridges and helping global talent truly connect with the warmth and diversity of Taiwan.
