Elizabeth Salim, a fourth-year psychology student from Indonesia, embarked on a transformative journey through the NTU International Mentorship program 2023 to join AUO. Under the guidance of Wallace Tsai, Senior manager of Human Resource Strategy Division, and Oscar Huang, Manager of HR Strategy & Digital Platform Planning section, Elizabeth broke free from the confines of the classroom, opening the doors to the realm of human resources management and unlocking the possibilities for her career development.

Initially hesitant to apply for the program as she approached graduation, Elizabeth was drawn by her longstanding curiosity about the field of human resources and the enticing internship opportunities at AUO. With a desire to seize the final opportunity for exploration before entering the workforce, Elizabeth decided to take the opportunity. Over the course of the three-month internship, she actively contributed to external communications, cross-border talent recruitment, and engaged in project execution. Approaching tasks from the perspective of international students, she combined her expertise in psychology with keen observation skills to conduct in-depth interviews with colleagues from different countries. Elizabeth then used her findings to adjust the company's international talent development policies, optimize the work environment, and integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles into AUO.

Elizabeth's time at AUO was enriching, providing not only essential workplace skills but also allowing her to apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios. She played a pivotal role in assisting international talents to assimilate into Taiwanese corporate culture. The experiences gained through various tasks instilled confidence in Elizabeth, firming up her commitment to future career choices.
