Tonglit Logistics

Hailing from Guatemala, Ana Perera, a third-year Mechanical Engineering student, interned at Tonglit Logistics through the NTU International Mentorship Program under the mentorship of President Alex Shih. Nestled in the nexus for international trade at the Port of Taipei, Tonglit Logistics spans diverse sectors, including mechanical engineering, logistics, sustainability, and business. During her internship, Ana not only observed the practical application of academic knowledge but also gleaned invaluable insights beyond the confines of campus.

At Tonglit, Ana embarked on her maiden voyage into the realm of logistics and supply chain management. She engaged in pre-shipment inspections of imported vehicles. She explored the inner workings of shipping vessels, witnessing the real-world manifestation of mechanical and engineering principles learned in the classroom. Additionally, Ana immersed herself in sustainable development, researching the lifespan and recycling processes of electric vehicle batteries.

Collaborating with Mr. Alex, she analyzed #international market trends, formulated actionable strategies for Tonglit, and eventually earned recognition from the Chairman upon presenting her findings. This experience boosted her confidence and underscored her ability to drive the company's sustainable transformation with her expertise and skills.

Ana also delved into the intricacies of the business world at Tonglit. She learned firsthand how large enterprises streamline communication, allocate responsibilities, and foster team cohesion. Participating in numerous meetings with foreign partner companies, Ana gained insights into the challenges of international trade and the paramount importance of cross-cultural communication. Ana’s three-month stint at Tonglit yielded unforeseen gains, offering her a multifaceted view of the logistics industry, merging her engineering prowess with business acumen, and significantly broadening her career prospects.
