Taipei Language Institute

Hugie Cendra, a fourth-year Geosciences major from Indonesia, joined the NTU International Mentorship Program. Driven by a keen interest in yoga and martial arts, she undertook an internship at the Taipei Language Institute. Under the guidance of Benjamin Wang, the Director of Marketing Communications and Qigong Instructor, Hugie actively contributed to the launch of the Yoga Martial Lab brand. This opportunity, harmonizing her professional aspirations with her personal interests, provided a precious chance for her to explore potential career paths.

At the Taipei Language Institute, Hugie played an essential role in establishing the image and refining the visual content of the Yoga Martial Lab brand. She engaged in designing marketing materials, managing official social media channels, and organizing various promotional events  with Director Benjamin. Despite initial challenges in grappling with unfamiliar martial arts terminology and concepts, Hugie adeptly surmounted them with the support of Director Benjamin and her colleagues and crafted excellent teaching presentations for the workshops. During her internship, beyond delving into event marketing, brand decision-making, and promotional strategies, Hugie regularly attended courses offered by Yoga Martial Lab, encompassing yoga, pilates, qigong, and more. Learning alongside experts through the courses, she learned the importance of striking a balance between work, exercise, and life, and fostered a sense of self-care amidst the fast-paced modern life.

Hugie's experience at the TLI - Taipei Language Institute was captivating, combining her passions with professional growth. It imparted valuable knowledge and practical skills, catalyzed her personal, mental, and spiritual development, and fortified her confidence and determination to pursue a career in the realms of yoga and martial arts.
