Impact Hub Taipei
Through the NTU International Mentorship Program 2023, Amanda, a second-year student majoring in Social Sciences at Singapore Management University who applied to the program via GTA and Mauricio, a graduate student majoring in Agricultural Economics from Colombia, started their internships at Impact Hub Taipei this summer. With the Co-Founder & COO, Oliver’s guidance, students joined different projects to make an impact and to build the social innovation ecosystem.
During the internship, Amanda, who worked in the Impact Management Office, served as a think tank with the group to provide insights by collecting and analyzing data about trends of social innovation in Taiwan; she also helped potential clients to conduct research and collect information. In one of the projects, she utilized the advantage of her cultural background to help investigate Singapore’s social innovation ecosystem and social impact. Meanwhile, Mauricio, who worked in the Global Initiative Team, promoted several SDG projects. He helped Taiwan make connections with international organizations. He also joined different events such as NTU iNGO Academy, International Youth Day, Spark Taiwan, etc. Through these events, he learned how to plan and conduct events.
Amanda and Mauricio broke the language barrier to share their ideas with the team; They also built their communication and time management skills. Through the International Mentorship Program, students learned to make an impact and built their creativity in Impact Hub Taipei.
