Taiwan Art Gallery Association
In the summer of 2023, Kelley Ryan, a second-year Indonesian student, majors in Agricultural Economics. Through the International Mentorship Program (IMP), Kelley interned at Taiwan Art Gallery Association (TAGA). Kelley gained a deeper understanding of the association's role in the art industry under the guidance of Secretary-General You Wen-Mei. Additionally, she learned how to utilize her cultural background to assist the association in expanding in the Southeast Asia market.
Kelley has always been passionate about art since she was a child. Although she didn’t study in art-related major, she determined to achieve her childhood dream through the IMP. Therefore, she chose TAGA as her first preference, a completely different field from her studies. At first, she encountered various challenges, such as a language barrier and a lack of professional experience. However, under the hands-on guidance of Ms.Yu and she devoted herself to learning more about various artists; which gave her a chance to be part of ART TAICHUNG 2023. She served in the role of exhibition preparation and reception at the event. In addition, she is responsible for the operation and content production of the association's social media during her internship.
As a driving force to link art galleries in the Asia-Pacific, TAGA has been actively expanding into the art markets of Northeast and Southeast Asia in recent years. They hope to attract more international talents to join the association, leading the younger generation to forge a new era of Asian art collaboration.
