Signify Taiwan

In summer 2022, NTU Indonesian student Tiandra Benedicta majoring in Economics, had the opportunity to intern at Signify (formerly Philips lighting), the world leader in lighting for professionals, consumers, and lighting for the Internet of Things, through the International Mentorship Program. Throughout her internship, she was guided by her mentor, Po-Chen Kung, the Head of the Professional Channel at Signify.

Much of Tiandra’s work over the summer focused on analyzing marketing data, and preparing marketing materials for client outreach. Her mentor Po-Chen not only taught her the skills necessary to complete these tasks, including how to maximize the use of Excel in a work context, but also helped her adjust to the working environment in Taiwan. Compared with Tiandra’s two previous internship experiences, she felt much more comfortable this time having a mentor to guide her as she adjusted to working in a new company and culture.

Tiandra said she always felt welcomed and treated as an equal during her time there. She is considering applying to the International Mentorship Program again next year, and encourages all students interested in working in Taiwan to do the same!
