Ubiik
From the statistics course in school to the path of becoming an engineer, it is the passion and courage that inspires Kent Daniel to challenge himself. Originally from Indonesia, Kent is studying in the School of Forestry and Resource Conservation. In summer 2022, through the NTU International Mentorship Program, Kent stepped into the IoT pioneer - Ubiik. Mentored by French technical director - Fabien and Russian co-supervisor - Alex, he entered artificial intelligence and data analytics field for his internship.
Under guidance of the two mentors, although Kent was not majoring in STEM studies , he still can gradually possess hands-on experience with projects related to Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). Alex emphasized that smart talents are everywhere, but in Ubiik, they care about whether talents can be part of the team. Although Kent still has a lot to learn, his positive attitude towards challenges and learning made him outstanding in a cross-disciplinary field. Regarding the most impressive moment of his internship, Kent and Alex both shared that when the first time they met each other, due to Kent’s curiosity about everyone, the expected half-an-hour self-introduction turned out to be a three-hour meeting. It seems that the IoT technology connects not only the electricity meters, but also every employees at Ubiik.
