Northland Power Taiwan

Rolando Ruiz, a 4th-year NTU student majoring in Chemical Engineering from Mexico, he was the valedictorian of international student in 2022. Rolando joined NTU OIA Mentorship Program setting off a new journey at Northland Power where he experienced closer practical tasks. During his internship process, Rolando had close relationships with all his colleagues experiencing broad different tasks which leads him to improve and obtain new skills for his future career. The internship is mentored by Clara Huang as Government Relations Manager and assisted by several work colleagues such as Beth Wattleworth, the Commercial Development Director of Asia Region, Sean McDermott, the Managing Director at Northland Power, and Irene Tsai, the Human Resource Business Partner Director of Asia Region.

Through the Internship, Rolando learns Data Digitalization and Engineering expertise in Statistics and Dynamics. He even contributes to helping the company in developing databases using Microsoft SQL which helps to access data easier and have a better precision result. He also had the chance to participate in a high-rank event called the "2022 EU-Taiwan-Japan-Korea Offshore Wind Seminar: Cooperation for Global and Regional Supply Chains" where he learned directly from Professionals as well as enjoyed a wonderful conversation with Mike Crawley, the CEO of Canada Northland Power Headquarter regard to his future career prospect. Onwards, Rolando is inspired to continue his master’s degree related to renewable energy degree and wishes to have related occupation jobs in the future while advocating green energy actions through his podcast, 【Pulche Podcast】, and daily activities.
