Thales Taiwan

NTU OIA met with Juan Davin Tamsuli, a second-year student majoring in Biochemical Engineering, from Indonesia. Juan is interning in summer 2022 under his mentor Anson Tong, Director of Thales Group’s ground transportation sector. Under the mentorship of Anson, Juan supported Thales Group in the competitive bidding process to secure contracts for the Thales Group’s ground transportation sector.

In addition to supporting Anson in bidding and procurement, Juan also participated in many company meetings, sustainability forums, and smart-city forums, to better understand Thales Group’s role in designing transportation infrastructure in Taiwan. Juan even challenged himself to learn about other sectors within Thales Group, such as their defense and security Sector. Wrapping up our discussion, Juan poignantly described how he felt more comfortable after his internship pursuing work opportunities in Taiwan, something he did not feel comfortable doing before this summer.
