TAO Digital Taiwan

2025 summer, three NTU students from Indonesia embarked on a two-month internship journey at Tao Digital. They were Joshua Lin from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dwayne Hsu from the Master’s Program in Smart Medicine and Health Informatics, and David Chu from the Department of Biochemical Science and Technology. Although they came from different academic backgrounds, their strong shared passion for AI and machine learning motivated them to join Tao Digital, where they learned, exchanged ideas, and grew together throughout the internship.

Headquartered in California, USA, Tao Digital is a Silicon Valley startup specializing in software solutions and AI-driven innovations, serving industries including digital payments, healthcare, and automotive. The company is dedicated to helping businesses achieve digital transformation and automation, while also acting as a platform for cross-border collaboration and talent development, fostering innovation and knowledge sharing. Leveraging the students’ diverse backgrounds, Tao Digital assigned projects in electric vehicles and smart healthcare, providing the students with opportunities to apply their academic knowledge in a real workplace setting and further develop their expertise.

During the internship, the students also took part in Brown Bag Sessions, where they exchanged insights with colleagues, presented technical findings, shared project progress, and discussed research outcomes. These sessions allowed them to practice conveying complex expertise clearly and persuasively to stakeholders, strengthening their professional skills while sharpening their communication and presentation abilities

The internship also provided valuable cross-cultural collaboration experience. Working alongside international teammates from the United States and India, they gained exposure to diverse work styles and cultural perspectives, broadening their capacity to adapt and communicate across diverse cultural contexts. Whether tackling technical challenges, discussing project strategies, or engaging in teamwork, they acquired practical experiences that will benefit them in their future careers. Thanks to their dedication and outstanding performance, the students earned high recognition from Tao Digital and secured opportunities to transition into full-time positions.
