Ericsson Taiwan
Saurav, who hails from India and is studying Communications Engineering, interned at Ericsson Taiwan, a telecommunications equipment manufacturer in Sweden, through NTUIMP 2022.Under the guidance of his mentor, Sherry, the Technical Manager of the department, Saurav participated in the research and development of 5G cell towers aligned with the SDGs.During the process of development, Saurav learned that 5G technology not only provides faster and more reliable communication but also has the potential to be more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. This sparked his interest in further researching and developing sustainable technologies. In his perspective, the work culture in Ericsson Taiwan is very open. There is no restriction on dress code and the mode of working, and one could totally choose to work in the office or at home depending on their needs. The mentors, colleagues, and seniors were all incredibly supportive during my time at Ericsson. In my opinion, the NTU OIA Mentorship program is instrumental in gaining real-life workplace experiences.
