Startup Island TAIWAN

In summer 2025, Natalia Pranoto, a sophomore student from Indonesia majoring in Business Administration is completing her internship at Startup Island TAIWAN. She chose this opportunity because of her strong interest in the startup industry and her desire to learn in Taiwan’s vibrant entrepreneurial environment.

Founded in 2015, Startup Island TAIWAN is the national startup brand supported by the National Development Council (NDC) to promote Taiwan's startup ecosystem across Asia. Natalia chose this internship to immerse herself in Taiwan’s dynamic entrepreneurial environment.

During her internship, Natalia managed and promoted workshops and seminars, strengthening her time management skills. This time of year is busy with activities such as Youth Works, the Tokyo-Taiwan Innovation Summit, Techsauce Global Summit, and the Taipei Startup AI+ Pitch Up Contest. These events aim to foster collaboration among global startups, which made her task much more meaningful.

Natalia received strong support from her mentor, Miriam Clapp, who was impressed by her talent in event promotion. The casual and inclusive work culture allowed them to build a relationship more like friends than colleagues. Although Natalia is still exploring her future career path, this internship broadened her understanding of startup operations and inspired her to seek further opportunities in this pioneering industry.
