Salary is a fixed payment earned for the work done during the internship period. Benefits, on the other hand, are non-wage compensation and can exist in the form of free transportation, meals or even accommodation ,etc.
This is not decided by OIA. It is stated whether or not salaries or benefits are offered under each mentor’s page. OIA will continue to update this section once the organizations inform us of possible changes.
Some organizations provide rewards in the form of salaries, and some in the form of benefits (some give both). If your organization happens to provide wages, please consult this with your mentor once selected for the program, as many companies might have different policies.
