PERSONAL BIO

Dr. Cheng graduated from National Sun Yat-sen University with a degree in Marine Environment and Engineering, specializing in wave theory and field investigations. His dissertation, “Analysis of Regular Progressive Wave Trains on Three-Dimensional Ripple Bottom,” explored the interaction between wave motion and seabed topography through theoretical analysis, providing insights into the mechanisms that generate extraordinary large waves.

He has since been engaged in Fisheries resource assessments and Coastal environmental awareness, contributing to Taiwan’s marine research and conservation efforts. Currently, he serves at the Taiwan Ocean Research Institute (TORI) , National Institutes of Applied Research (NIAR), focusing on radar remote sensing, including the analysis of raw echo signals and the application of surface current data.
