Internship Job Description

As a Summer Research Intern in our firm, your primary responsibility will be to support our innovation and research team in developing sustainable design strategies and integrating AI solutions into architectural design. You will be working at the crossroads of research, innovation, and architectural design, focusing on sustainability and technology.

Key Responsibilities:
- Research: Conduct extensive literature reviews and market research on emerging sustainable technologies, materials, and practices in the architectural field. Prepare concise, meaningful reports on your findings.
- AI Integration: Explore opportunities for incorporating artificial intelligence into architectural design. This includes, but is not limited to, AI-enabled design software, generative design algorithms, predictive modeling, and smart building technologies.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Develop and propose sustainable design strategies that can be incorporated into our projects. This will involve researching and evaluating the environmental, social, and economic impact of these strategies.
- Project Collaboration: Collaborate with our design teams to integrate your research findings into our ongoing projects. This will require strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proactivity & Initiative: As a self-starter, we expect you to take initiative in identifying potential areas of improvement in our design processes, and propose research-based solutions. You will have the opportunity to lead small-scale projects within your area of interest.

Preferred Intern Skill Sets or Qualities

- Current or recently graduated students studying Architecture, Environmental Design, Sustainability, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Demonstrated interest and knowledge in sustainable design and AI technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects.
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is preferred but not required.
