Hong Chiang Technology, Taiwan’s leading brand in track-based food delivery robots, has transformed the restaurant automation industry through a decade of innovation and customization. Founded by brothers Kuang-Chen Lo and Kuang-Yi Lo, the company began by designing conveyor systems for hot pot and sushi restaurants, eventually developing fully integrated delivery solutions including AI algorithms, POS systems, and smart ordering features. Their robots, capable of high-speed, space-efficient service, now hold an 80% market share in Taiwan and have expanded to markets in the U.S. and Europe.
Through constant R&D investment and product innovation, Hong Chiang has evolved beyond food service. Since 2019, the company has introduced robots with advanced features such as auto-turning, sound and light effects, and lid-opening functions. Major Japanese sushi chains like Hama Sushi and Hiroroku Sushi chose Hong Chiang for their Taiwan operations, citing faster delivery and lower costs compared to Japanese suppliers. The company has also branched into libraries with book-sorting robots and small eateries with smart rice dispensers and upright robots, expanding its product lines to meet broader automation needs.
Looking ahead, Hong Chiang is preparing to scale up significantly. A 2,500-ping headquarters is set to open in 2026, and the company plans to go public within three years. With its strong foundation in AI-driven automation and track-based logistics, Hong Chiang aims to redefine efficiency in both the food service and broader logistics sectors—potentially creating a new model of “track economy” with global impact.
