About Us
Representing the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Office of the Washington State Department of Commerce, our office focuses on promoting Washington State’s trade, industry, and investment environment in Taiwan.
We actively engage with target Taiwanese enterprises, strengthen exchanges and interactions, and gradually assist companies in successfully establishing operations in Washington State.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Current undergraduate juniors or seniors, or graduate students (master’s level or above). All majors are welcome.
Language Proficiency:
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English.
English proficiency test score meeting one of the following standards:
TOEFL 90 or above
IELTS 7.0 or above
Duolingo 120 or above
TOEIC 850 or above
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiar with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Dcard, etc.)
Experience using AI tools is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong English speaking and writing skills.
Experience serving as a department or campus organization leader; participation in international activities; study abroad or overseas internship experience.
Familiarity with cultural, educational, and trade exchanges between Taiwan and the United States.
Strong interest in diplomacy, international affairs, trade, and investment-related business activities.
Internship Responsibilities
Event Planning and Execution:
Assist in organizing exhibitions and events, and gain hands-on experience in professional industry exhibition operations.
International Reception:
Receive domestic and international visitors and participate in cross-cultural exchanges.
Language Application:
Conduct bidirectional Chinese–English translation and interpretation to develop professional reading, writing, and speaking skills.
International Communication:
Correspond with domestic and international government agencies, enterprises, and academic institutions to strengthen communication skills.
Social Media Management:
Manage the office’s social media platforms and enhance digital marketing capabilities.

Work Location & Benefits
Location:
Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1, Xinyi District, Taipei City (directly accessible from MRT Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station)
Internship Allowance:
Daily meal and transportation subsidy (NT$200 per day)
Working Hours:
9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)
2–3 days per week, minimum of 16 hours per week
(Schedule may be flexibly adjusted during the interview)
Internship Duration:
Winter, summer break or one semester to one academic year, requiring a minimum of 16 hours per week.
Additional Opportunities:

Certificate:
