ORGANIZATION INFO.

Alliance Française is a non-profit organization included in a worldwide network with more than 800 centers. The main office is in Paris and has close connections with the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The purpose of the organization is to promote the French language, French culture, and exchanges with the local population. The first Alliance Française in the world was created in 1884 in Mauritius. Alliance Française de Taïwan had been created in Taiwan in 1984 and has two centers: one in Kaohsiung and the other in Taipei. Per year Alliance Française de Taïwan has between 1400 to 1800 students joining weekday or weekend classes. Alliance Française de Taïwan is also involved in cultural events like Fête de la Francophonie, conferences, exhibitions, and film screenings. Alliance Française de Taiwan cooperates with different partners, mainly the French Office in Taipei, French associations, and the universities.
