The Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) is one of the most prestigious think tanks in the world. According to the TTCSP Global Go to Think Tank Index Reports, CIER is ranked 140th in the world, proving its capability of conducting research and global influence.
The main tasks of CIER are:
To orient the direction of Taiwan's sustainable development as well as its economic and industrial policies.
To help navigate and serve as advising mechanism on important matters concerned with economic and industrial policy issues.
To offer professional knowledge and analysis of industrial development strategies, and assist in industrial development.
To serve as a platform for the exchange of local and international economic-related knowledge and take the lead in policy formulation.
To cultivate talent to handle the policy analysis and evaluation work.
The Center for Energy and Environmental Research has been working on climate-related and circular economy issues for years. Topics include governmental consultation, net-zero policy making, smart cities, the energy market, SDGs, strategies for industrial development and transformation, environmental protection, environmental science, and models for economic and social development.
