Taiwan Digital Diplomacy Association

Deanna Gracia, a second-year student majoring in Public Health from Indonesia, is strongly interested in international relations and foreign policy. Through the NTU International Mentorship Program, she interned at the Taiwan Digital Diplomacy Association(TDDA). Under the guidance of Chiayo KUO, the founder and president of TDDA, Deanna was assigned to manage various social media platforms and assisted in organizing the Digital Diplomacy Youth Leadership Camp. She also had the opportunity to meet with Ambassador Robert Kennedy Lewis of Saint Lucia, one of Taiwan's diplomatic allies, and also assist with the courses and workshops during the camp.
Despite lacking prior experience in social media management, Deanna's hard work paid off. She not only significantly improved her sensitivity of issue researching and her writing skills but also achieved tangible results. She increased the followers on X (Twitter) by over 300, and the engagement on LinkedIn doubled. Deanna also served as the editor of the newsletter, "Taiwan Digital Diplomacy Digest," providing the latest political, diplomatic, and economic information about Taiwan to all readers, helping more people get to know and understand Taiwan.
Deanna discovered that while diplomacy may seem like a complex and vast field, the Taiwan Digital Diplomacy Association has the potential to wield significant diplomatic influence through citizen power. She is also contemplating how to combine her digital diplomacy skills with her expertise in public health, exploring potential career paths for the future.
In the next few months, NTU OIA will continue to visit the mentors and students of our Mentorship Program to share stories and learn from their experiences. Stay tuned to our social media channels for more #IMPMentorStory!
